Our Business

For nearly three decades, we have developed trading relationships around the world with the ultimate goal of returning recycled raw materials back into the global supply chain.

Established in 1996 as an electronics recycling company, Interco has since grown with the focus of providing recycling & trading services to industrials, scrap dealers, OEMs, shredders, governments, smelters, refiners and mines across a wide range of nonferrous metals, electronics, and battery materials.

Interco leverages its expertise in secondary metals to place materials into optimal markets, thereby maximizing value for our clients. We take pride in being a dedicated, trusted recycling partner to our suppliers and consumers.

Headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri, Interco operates two recycling facilities in the Greater St. Louis area. Interco strives to grow its business through trading partnerships and investment in mid-stream processing.

Interco began by purchasing memory modules and electronics for placement into secondary smelters.

Throughout the early 2000s Interco grew its electronics materials list with a focus on supplying secondary smelters.

Expansion

Interco moved to its current nonferrous facility in Madison, IL and began handling the full spectrum of nonferrous metals.

The introduction of lithium-ion batteries created a new opportunity to trade, process, and recover battery materials.

Invested in batteries

Interco was the first North American company to produce mixed metal concentrate from li-ion battery scrap.

Further Expansion

Interco opens an electronics-specific recycling facility. Additionally, Critical Mineral Recovery (CMR) is formed as a battery-specific affiliate and breaks ground on its Fredericktown, MO processing plant.

Partnership

Interco enters into a strategic commercial partnership with Evolution Metals and Technologies to supply and market metals and rare earth elements critical to U.S. supply chains.
